many brands and models including dot matrix/impact and thermal printers.

fixing?
There are many situations
where printers are not cost-effective to repair. Determining
if a printer is worth repairing requires assessment of the printer
model, the problem, and how suitable the printer is for the work that it
is doing.
In general,
desktop inkjet printers (including multifunction units) are NOT
cost-effective to repair.
